The Cliff 02:29
When I was fifteen I realized I was alive. Everything before then was someone else. I didn't make decisions, I just said whatever came to mind, whatever I learned from the people around me. So I sought out the necessary archetype; the old man living in the cave on the far away old mountain. I needed him to teach me the language of navigating my newfound free will. He took me through woods and meadows. He showed me nature's wonders: the endless waterfall, the old tree with the heart carved in it, the snow on top of the rocky peak. "Can we climb that?" I asked him. "Of course," he answered. Then he led me through a pine forest where the sap oozed from the ground and then up a crag where the crows laughed at us. When we finally reached the top he stopped and pointed to the cliff where the rocks met the sky and said, "Go, and look beyond the snow at your feet. Look at the world." I did. And I saw life laid out before me. All the splendor delivered on a platter of dirt. Beneath me were places I'd never been to, people I'd never met. They all called up to me, asking me to trust them and be where I belonged. I stood at the edge of the cliff and asked the old man, "Should I jump?" He said, "Not Yet, Boy."

Dear friends, I find our kinds in trouble. I tried to live in my own bubble. But our masters in their towers can yell for hours and hours. They have never even seen our struggle. Recently, My children have grown quiet. They fear one day the streets will grow too violent. And on the television, I hear nothing but division. Not even God could make us all united. I spoke at them: The world will soon be peaceful. No one can be truly evil. But with their naive eyes, they saw through gleaming lies. Understanding death, no longer feeble. One summer day They went to buy new backpacks. Their mother said “An hour we will be back.” Our kids would think of learning, not that our world is hurting. I replied, “I am sure they will love that.” Dear friends, It's rather hard to breathe now. 13 found dead in a mall bombed downtown. It seems like such waste to trade lives for living space. My friends all blame you, I understand why now.
